Details for the Compilation Project – "Praising Him Loudly: Volume One"

Hi everyone!!

In my last blog I mentioned a project that i would like to bring to our CatholicMetal community.
The project is a compilation album with the working title of “Praising Him Loudly:  Volume One.”
I have had a lot of bands/artists get in touch with me already about this – I’ve also had a lot
of questions about the project.  I have responded to a lot of the questions individually, but i thought
in tonight’s blog – i would give more details about the project, its intent, what needs to be submitted
and the deadline for this project.

First of all, this compilation doesn’t have a theme or a concept to it – what I’m proposing is that
this first project from Catholicmetal.com is a Catholic metal primer….an introduction to Catholic
Metal that can be enjoyed by our community, by our families and friends and as a way to reach out
to those who are curious or want an example of the different bands that are praising God loudly.

I’m hoping that bands/artists will  consider submitting one or two of their best songs for this project.
Can you imagine an album of the best that we have to offer??  Everyone who has heard the music that
we have reviewed have been impressed with the quality of it and its diversity….the facebook comments,
personal emails and other comments I have received have been amazingly positive.  If we can provide
a sampler of our music – it can only give us more “clout” – not only as a strong community but as a group of
musicians that believe in the love of Christ, the presence of the Holy Spirit and the power of our
music as a form of praise and worship.

What I need bands/artists to do is to let me know of their interest.  The music submitted needs to be a
wave (.wav) copy of the final mix of the song/songs that has not been mastered yet.  I need a .wav copy so
that all the songs can be mastered in a similar way to ensure overall quality. The mastering service is
provided by Catholicmetal.com through Writ In Water Sound Creations and will be done at no charge to the
artists/bands that are submitting music (in other words, free mastering!).  If you are interested in this,
email me and I will give details about how to send the .wav files to us over the internet.

I’m asking for one or two songs and whether both get on the project will depend on the number of
overall submissions. In addition to the songs being great – the recordings also have to be of a good,
professional quality.  The songs can either be a new recording or they can be from a past project.
Chances are that many of you already have the “work” done.   Its just a matter of sending us an unmastered
.wav file for mastering.  If you have any questons about this – please let me know and (with your permission)
I’ll share the answers with the community using this blog.

Once your intent to submit is sent to me at dave@catholicmetal.com – I’ll send you further details about
your band’s information about your band and the recording.

The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2011.  This should be enough time to get you mixes together, or
for the more ambitious, get a song recorded for the project – please keep in mind that singles off your
older recordings are okay for this project and that we are not expecting anyone to “break” the bank.
The release date is (tentatively) May 1, 2011 – the date of the beatification of John Paul II.  This is
intended to be a digital download – but if our community thinks that physical CDs need to be made – we
will make arrangements through Catholicmetal.com and our Catholic  community business contacts to make
this a reality.

As always, please feel free to email me at dave@catholicmetal.com if you have any questions or comments.

Yours In Christ,

Dave

I’m really excited about this project!  I am planning to record a song devoted to the Eucharist for this compilation.  It has been so encouraging to be able to share our creative works with other faithful musicians and listeners, and find out about other bands.  Now is the time of fulfillment!!!

I just want to say that its a cool idea a catholic bands site like this i am in canada and nothing like this here long live and may Jesus Mary and all saints help us here make this site a must be in future for all musicians that want to  play music and do the will of God same time. The only thing maybe is the code we have to enter really is difficult always we see wrong code entering. often it take me 7 times…

The compilation is a great idea too,.I was thinking i was maybe the only guy who is really living my faith  and be rock musician, and same time musicians and rock was just sex drug and rock and roll  cliché, i am happy that a compilation like this will exist and i hope it will be taken seriously by the industry, ,and i hope that a catholic band will become really huge soon and that way will show to rest of the the world the truth of catholicism and maybe help some peoples to change and convert , this may look ambitious a bit but if God want ,it will happen.

Hey johnb111 – thanks for your kind comments!!  I am from Canada (Kitchener, Ontario) too!!!!  Where are you from????

There is catholic metal in Canada….but it is very hard to find…. I’m hoping that this website might unite all of us catholic metal

musicians and listeners world-wide as a strong community of believers in the Holy Catholic Church and in the teachings

of Jesus Christ.  Thanks for taking the time to write you comment.

YOu mentioned the code is “difficult”…are you talking about the login???  Please reply and let me know.  I will get Incruentus to fix the problem right away if you can give me more information about it – please respond to this blog or email me at dave@catholicmetal.com

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

          1. Thanks Dave i was meaning the code you have to enter when you send a post here you have to read the letters and try to write the same thing but even if its the same often it saY THAT:  You entered wrong code…  i know its for spam maybe but if there is a way to make it work better….
          2.                           I pray rosary every day too.       I hope that this site will become some day a place where every catholic musician will say:     All began there..   .I think Dave you have been choosen for a mission… To make the catholics musicians become a real force. Its time that a catholic band become huge and make  with his music and lyrics ,interviews etc..  the world understand the importance of conversion and understand that only catholic church can give the sacrements that are really efficients to save their souls.  All those who are christians but from other confessions will not agree with this statement , but the holy body of Christ is not in eucharisty of protestant, nor anglican church.  the baptisma is not efficient too in those churches.     Thats why its so important that someone become big enought that the band  will be able to say truths like this .     I was thinking U-2 could be that  band cause they are catholics but they did not in reality  Bono lose time in causes not really importants and he do it more for showing himself.    That  topic will bring maybe  lot of peoples to complain,  ( i already hear it…)  but Jesus Christ will be happy that peoples that usually are the worst sinners on earth  , the rock musicians,   will maybe become  Martyrs for the  catholic faith.

Thanks for your kind words!!  I hope this site isn’t about me though… but it is just an idea that gets perpetuated by the Holy Spirit through our whole community.   There are a lot of people out there doing great things in God’s name and I’m hoping that all Catholic metal musicians will join us and we can only be stronger by our growth as a community and hopefully, grow stronger through prayer and through spreading the word of Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church.   I will be meeting with the webmaster (Incruentus) tonight and we’ll address your login problem over the weekend.

Thanks again for your help to make this website the best if can be!!!

Dave, I have to say that I think this compilation is something that is not only visionary, but something that is going to give young Metalheads something to latch on to. I remember being an altar boy and thinking that there was something wrong with my love of Heavy Music. There were no role models, nobody to assure me that there were like minds out there. I think this album may do just that. Affirm, for those who don’t know, that they are not alone. God know this very idea in itself is a blessing!
