A Call for Pictures!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are enjoying the summer season.  I just got back from my cottage by the beach off of Lake Huron.  I love it there, i can really feel the awesome power of God’s creation in the sun, sand, and the wind.  The only thing I don’t like about taking a vacation is coming back home to the reality of life…..this week this reality included the shooting in Aurora, Colorado.  I hope the entire community takes the time to pray for all the victims, the survivors and for the policemen and other emergency workers that were involved in this horrific tragedy.  Up here in Canada, the media is all on fire about who or what is to blame for this event…but I truly think they are missing the point.  Pointing fingers and playing the blame game at this point is an exercise in frustration…..let’s focus on the families that need to bury their loved ones, the families who need to keep a vigilant eye on their family member who is in a hospital bed, and let’s focus on how lucky we are that the law enforcement officers of Aurora were able to diffuse the bombs that were planted in the apartment where Holmes lived.  Please, if you can, join me in trying to pray an extra rosary everyday for the next 2 weeks for all these people so that through the power of the rosary  – there will bring some sort of healing.

Next, you will notice in the lower left section of the webpage we have a  “Random Image”  area.  We would like you to consider submitting a picture of you with your favourite instrument for the website.  You can have more than one instrument in your picture and please submit a maximum of two pictures per person.  Also please make sure that there is nothing in the picture that will change the “G” rated nature of our website (LOL!).  Ultimately, we have the final say in whether the picture gets used or not and I will personally email you about this.  The deadline for submissions is Wednesday,  August 1, 2012.  I know that this date is creeping up fast…..if you miss this first deadline and we have enough interest, we will most certainly have a call for pictures again towards the end of August/early September.

Please submit your pictures to me at dave@catholicmetal.com – also please feel free to email me about any questions, comments, suggestions about this.  We really need to get the “faces” of our community up on this website and this seems like a fun way to do it!!
