Finally another blog!

Hi everyone! Sorry about the long space between blogs. Now that my classes are over, I’ll be able to focus on the fine art of blogging and hopefully one day I will get it right! LOL!

We are currently sitting in an amazing position! As of today’s date, we have 1, 471, 935 plays and we are slowly and steadily building up to the 1.5 million play level!  Not that numbers and statistics are the only things that matter, – but to think that our collective mission of praising Christ and His Holy Catholic Church through our music is getting this level of listening is truly amazing.  If you have added Catholic Metal’s facebook page to your own facebook page, you will notice that I’m asking our facebook friends to see if they can help us get to 1.5 million plays.  Again, the stats are not the only driving force.  What I am trying to do is to get more people to share our website/internet presence so that we can use our music on the internet to evangelize more people.  Our music is hopefully going to get out to even more listeners over the summer.

If you can, please share the facebook or twitter posts that you are receiving.  If you are not getting them, please add our facebook and twitter accounts to your own.

Another point that I would like to make is that we are currently looking for more Catholic metal music to review.  Incruentus and I have not written a review in a long time and we want to make up for it over the summer.  If you have any recent music, or even any music that is a little older – please consider sending it to us.  Our reviews are always fairly positive and if we need to, we will even send a rough draft for your approval.  We have a couple of album reviews in the works already, but are always looking for more.  If you have any questions/concerns – please feel free to email me (dave@catholicmetal.com) and I’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.

One last request, if you have any other forms of social media that you think are very effective, – I’d like to hear about it.  We are   spending an average of about 15-25 hours per week on various social media sites and are looking for more ways to get our music and the word out about our community.  Any ideas/comments about this would be very valuable to all of us.

Lastly, there has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes and I want to thank our staff for all the hard work they have done.  Our other related site www.writinwatersound.com is starting to shape up well and should be officially launched by the end of July.  This site specializes in modern Catholic music – more kids music and modern rock praise and worship.  Our first release is a CD by John Devine and it is a kid’s mass setting.  It’s not metal, but it still is great for our Catholic children and those people who minister to them who need music resources.  Incruentus and company have been working on getting the artwork finalized for this project and I’ll have a link ready for your to check out if you are interested.

One God One Faith is about a quarter of the way through their new album release.  It’s their first full release and the band is totally stoked.  Their brand of metal has more of a punk and reggae feel to it and the new material is harder than the singles that were released on the first two compilation albums.  The band is looking at either a Nov./2013 or a Feb./2014 official release.  More information will be available towards this August.  Some sound bites might be available soon!!

Thanks so much for your patience with us so far this year.  The website will be continually upgraded and will hopefully look better as time goes on!

Yours In Christ!!

    Hello Dave,

First, thank you for managing this marvellous community. I had been looking for something like this for a while. Thanks to these amazing songs, the decade ago forgotten plans have awaken in me. I’m looking forward to bring to life the music in my head. I know it won’t be easy with three children and it will take a year or more to make the first song eligible for sharing with the public. And I need to improve my English and my guitar skills too. I’ll inform you when I have some tangible results.

So… Basically, I begun to write this comment to suggest you to create a page (and possibly a community) on Google+ for Catholic Metal. G+ seems to be a topic-oriented site, and communities of people with similar interests can grow fast there.

I send my best wishes from Hungary to the whole community. May God strenghten us all in our missions.

    Sándor

Ps.: sorry about my awful English, please feel free to correct my errors…

      Hey Sandor!!
Thanks for your generous words…your English is fine!! I know how difficult it is to make time for music…I have 4 kids at home and I teach music full time for the local Catholic School Board. It’s important to take your time…the music will flow when it is ready! If you need some help with guitar…let me know – I’ve taught guitar for over 30 years and i might know a trick or two….I’m overdue for putting up some guitar licks on the Forums…maybe I’ll get that done over the next week or so.

We’ll see about getting a Google+ site up and running by the end of the summer. Right now I’m busy keeping Catholic Metal running smoothly and my record label Writ In Water Sound Creations (www.writinwatermusic.com) is taking up most of my time. We have a release being made right now – it’s the music for mass on a CD! It has 8 praise and worship songs and original easy to play on guitar mass parts! It’s being marketed to schools and youth groups who need help with their music ministry.

I’m glad we finally found each other and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

      Yours In Christ!!
